A Watercolored Look

A card to Dad doesn't have to be a Father's Day card, it can be a card just to remind him how great he is!
For this card, I tried a technique I saw in the 2018-2019 catalog. You start by inking the truck image with Sahara Sand ink and stamp the image off to your scrap paper, then stamp on to your project. This is called the "stamp off technique", and it gives a much lighter image than if you were to stamp directly onto your project. Next, use Stampin' Blends to color the image in. The color pretty much masks the lines of the image to give a watercolor look!
I'm really happy with how the Real Red Stampin' Blends gave all the shading needed to make the truck look 3D and not lose all of the lines. I also used some Watercolor Pencils for the windows in Basic Gray, and the lights in Daffodil Delight. And I always love finishing off cards with the watercolor look with the light Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blend for a subtle sky!
I definitely plan to try this again soon!
