Stamping 101: Daisy Lane

The world is self-quarantining, so why not pick up a new hobby? Over the next few weeks I'd like to offer some quick and easy designs with minimal supplies to help get you started crafting! Up first is the Daisy Lane Cling Stamp Set.

Crafting Necessities:

Project Supplies:

*Note - the Daisy Punch is not needed to complete the project, but makes them much easier than cutting with scissors!

Project #1:

This is a fun starter project that's simple, quick, and easy, but a lot of fun to create! Here's the dimensions of the cardstock you'll need:

Basic Grey: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (cut the cardstock in half)

Whisper White: 4" x 5 1/4"

Smoky Slate: 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Whisper White: 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"

(Plus a scrap piece of white cardstock)

1. Fold the Basic Grey cardstock in half. The bone folder helps to create a crisp fold!

2. On the larger Whisper White cardstock, use the stamp shown in the image above to stamp randomly over the paper. Don't forget the corners!

3. Adhere the large Whisper White cardstock to the card base, keeping it centered.

4. Adhere the small Whisper White cardstock to the Smoky Slate cardstock, then adhere those two layers to the center of the large Whisper White cardstock.

5. Using a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the larger daisy image towards the edge of the paper, twice.

6. If you got the Daisy Punch - simply punch them out! If not, then use scissors to cut each image out.

7. Put a little adhesive in the center of the back of one daisy, turn it so the petals line up different than the one below, and stick them together. You can lightly push the petals upwards to give them more depth.

8. Adhere the cut-out daisy to the center of the card, and you're done!

For inside the card, cut another piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4". Adhere it to the inside of the card, and now you can write your own message.

Project #2:

How beautiful are the daisy images on this?! I love how pretty this card looks, while still being very easy and quick to create.

Basic Black: 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" (cut the cardstock in half)

Whisper White: 4" X 5 1/4"

Whisper White: 3 3/4" X 1/2"

1. Fold the Basic Black cardstock in half.

2. On the larger Whisper White cardstock, using the smaller daisy stamp, stamp the image in random spots - don't forget to do a couple on the edges!

3. The full daisy look is created by spinning the stamp slightly and stamping three times per flower. I find it easiest to hover the stamp over the already stamped image so it's lined up, then slightly rotate - this helps keep the center... centered. This can be tricky to master, so you can always start by just stamping the image twice per flower.

4. On the small Whisper White cardstock, stamp the greeting in the middle or closer to the left, which ever look you prefer. I stamped mine to the left, then ripped the paper on the other side.

5. Use the snail adhesive to attach the larger whisper white cardstock to the card base (centering it), then attach the greeting to the white cardstock. And just like that, you're done!

6. For inside the card, cut another piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4". Adhere it to the inside of the card, and now you can write your own message.

Change it up: Try using a different color card stock for the base, like Merry Merlot, to give it more color!

Project #3:

This one's my personal favorite, as I just simply love how the Crumb Cake paper looks!

Here's the dimensions of the cardstock you'll need:

Crumb Cake: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (cut the cardstock in half)

Crumb Cake: 4 1/4" x 1"

(Plus a scrap piece of Crumb Cake cardstock)

1. Fold the Crumb Cake cardstock in half.

2. Stamp the leaf image randomly over the card base. Don't forget to stamp some on the edges!

3. On the Crumb Cake strip, stamp the greeting close to the left edge.

4. Using the scrap Crumb Cake cardstock, stamp the larger daisy image towards the edge of the paper, twice.

5. If you got the Daisy Punch - simply punch them out! If not, then use scissors to cut each image out.

6. Put a little adhesive in the center of the back of one daisy, turn it so the petals line up different than the one below, and stick them together. You can lightly push the petals upwards to give them more depth.

7. Adhere the crumb cake strip to the bottom third of the card base.

8. Adhere the flower to the right side of the crumb cake strip, centered vertically.

9. For inside the card, cut another piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4". Adhere it to the inside of the card, and now you can write your own message.

Step It Up!

If you're already an avid stamper, here is a stepped up version of the card above. In addition to the supplies above, you'll need:

I used Whisper White for the flower instead of Crumb Cake, and colored them using the Stampin' Blends listed above. I also matted the greeting with Whisper White, which measures 4 1/4" x 1 1/8". A line of tulle ribbon was added under the greeting, and the card was finished out with some rhinestones for extra bling.
