I am loving this adorable Santa set, called So Santa. I've been dying to use it since I got it, and couldn't help but to start with a jolly Santa baking!

When I started assembling this card, it felt like something was missing. I tried placing ribbon behind the Santa image, but it just didn't seem like "enough". I finally decided on a thicker strip of Whisper White with some colorful Christmas presents stamped and colored, and matted with a piece of Old Olive cardstock.

One of my absolute favorite stamp sets from this year's holiday catalog is the Buffalo Check background stamp. I've used it for a bunch of fall cards, and it's great for Christmas cards, too! To take the background to the next level, take a Stampin' Write marker (I used Cherry Cobbler) and use a ruler to draw straight lines horizontally and vertically through the white checks.

My last tip for this card is so minor you probably missed it. I like to outline the stamped images (in this case, Santa) with the light Soft Seafoam Stampin' Blend marker, and then use the light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend marker around the ground part of the image. It makes the image stand out much more in person, and separates the white areas from the background, like Santa's cute little chef hat.
